Brean Murray & Co., Inc. Accelerates Expansion of Research Department

Gary M. Giblen has joined Brean Murray & Co., Inc. as Director of Research and member of the Management Committee, as well as a senior analyst covering consumer/retail companies. He will be a Senior Vice President and report to CEO William J. McCluskey.

Mr. Giblen is a proven money-maker in stock selection and idea development, and has several stockpicking and analyst honors. These include "All-Star" Stockpicker (Zack's 2002; Wall Street Journal 1998); #1 in category (Greenwich Research 1997); "All-America" Analyst (Institutional Investor - "II" 1993-1997). II-ranked #1 in "stock selection" and "industry knowledge" (1997), "premier stock picker" (1995), #1 overall (1994).

He comes to Brean Murray from five years at C.L. King, where he drove highly successful growth of its research department as Director of Research, and where he made a number of strongly performing stock recommendations as an analyst. Prior research affiliations include Banc of America Securities (Managing Director), Salomon Smith Barney (Managing Director) and PaineWebber (Vice President). He graduated from Harvard Business School (MBA) and Yale College (BA), and lives in Darien, CT, with his wife and daughter.
